Summary or Abstract : An analytical atudy of the thematic content L2 and L2 A theoretically oriented study of language must take into consideration the determining role of communication in language learning process. Knowing the rules and some essential vocabulary may be of some use and help to students who study a second language, but they will surely face problem when they are in real situation of communication. A good deal rasearch works has been conducted in this field, forerunned by Prague school which introduced " the communicative Dynamism " and later led to two categories of information: New information and Given information. The reaearch attempts to find out the reaction Iranian EFL students toward given and information in English and to find out the probable differences between Farsi and English and whether the distinction makes learning and communication easier and more effective or not.To clarify the issue, the following questions should be answered: 1. Is there any difference or similarity between Farsi and English " given and " new " in formation? 2. What is the reaction of farsi speaking EFL student toward these two categories of information in each case mentioned above?.
