Summary or Abstract : In recent individual difference in 2nd language learning have been the center of attention. Many studies have investigated the possibility that certain affective, social or cognitive variables may explain the individual differences in this field. When compared with attitude and motivation, personality factore have received more attention in the studies attempting to find a relationship between affective characterisrics and L2 learning. of those personality traits which have been mostely studied are extroversion / introversion and empathy. In present study the focus is on the former. It is difficult to find a clear - cut definition for such superfactor personality traits as extroversion and introversion, however, the literature reveals that it is mostely believed that extroverts are sociable and outgoing individuals who tend to express their emotions in action and associating with others. In contrast, introverts are shy and reserved individuals whose emotional outlets are within themselves. The present study which takes a quasi - experimental design, tries to find reasonable answers to the following questions: aW Is there relationship between nextroversion / introversion and the students proficiency in English reading comprehension? b Could it be effective for extroverts if they participate in an ERC classroom conducted on an extrovert based methodology?.
