Summary or Abstract : He made her smile and the goddes, withe - armed Hera, smiling took the winecup from his hand. Then , dipping from the winebowl, round he went from left to right, serwing the other gods nectar of sweet delight. And quenchless laughter broke out among the blissfull gods to see Hephaestus wheezing down the hall. So all day long till the sun went down they spent in feasting, and the measured feast matched well their hearts' desire so did the flawless harp held by Apollo and heavenly songs in choiring antiphon that all the Muses sang. In reading a work of art one is often surprized to find such lifelike and amazing scenes and characters that unconsciously remind him of the real world. It seems as if he can observe Hera and others taking, drinking and looking at each other, and he cannot help listening their music, whispers, and laughing at their witty comments. He is tempted to touch the flower and feel the very dewy petals of the roses, as he is approroaching pepole and scenes quietly, it gives his ashock to be reminded of the fact that it is seriously an illusion of reality. A big question mark is thus beginning to from in his mind: what is the relationship between reality and fiction? what is the nature of work of art? Is Homer a liar? can it be considered as fair deception?.
