Summary or Abstract : This study is based on three assumptions: 1. Grammar is dull. Dullness of the grammar is caused by the methods through which it is taught. Allen and Widdowson in their article' Grammar and Language Teaching believe that the reason why grammar has acquired a reputation for dullness is ... [that]... the way it is taught ... seems deliberately designed to kill all interests in the subject. 2. Different language students with different age, language back ground, previous education, etc call for different approaches in teaching grammatical items. Undoubtedly, failure to take into account different nature of different types of students is an important factor causing grammar teaching seem dull. 3. Role - play as one of the communicative a approach techniques give students an apportunity to practice communicating in different social context and in different social roles. according to Warshawsky grammatical structure appears to develop in the learner's speech in response to communicational need.In order to test the hypothesis the researcher performed an experiment, i, e, she practically taught a sample of English structure to a group of intermediate dult students. To do that he prepared in advance: - Six lessons which covered some grammatical rules - two groups of intermediate adult students as Experimental and Control groups - A TOEEL test composed of ninety questions which was used as pretest and posttest..
