Summary or Abstract : The issue of women in human societies is a crucial one. The role they play in establishing , consolidating or diminshing different cultural, economic and even artistic values vary immensely according to different societies and the demands they pile upon women. Being almost half population in any given society, women's contribution in various areas, in society as well as ai the family which iis a miniature society itself, cannot be ignored. This contribution reflects both the potentials of a woman and also the degree of openness and liberality in a society as well as the chances it provides her to act herself and make the most of her abilities. One thing important to be taken into consideration here is that women most often act in conformity with their surroundings and abide by demands of it. They have to please their surroundings , too , while seeking to satisfy their own needs and please themselves. the role they assume in any particular situation , as a sosiety woman , or family member , is to a great extent dictated by other members of that society or family..
