Summary or Abstract : The present study is an attempt to find out whether the presentation of " cutural Information " as a kind of pre - listening activity, is effective on EFL listening comprehension or not. Therefore the following questions were raised: 1. Does " Cultural information " have any effect on EFL students' listening comprehension? 2.Are these effect the same the elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels? To investigate the questions the following null hypotheses are formed: 1." Culture information " has no effects on the listening comprehension of EFL students. 2. " Culture information " does not vary as far as elementary, intermediate, and advanced students are concerned.The data were analyzed through the statistical techniques of the t - test to compare the means of the control and experimental groups seperately in each level of language proficiengy. Consequently, the two null hypotheses were not confirmed. The results revealed that the presentation of " Cultural information " as a kind of pre - listening activity had no effect on the listening comprehension of elementary students. On the contrary, The same effects were significant on the listening comprehension of intermediate and advanced students. The study has outstanding implications for syllabus designers, material writer, test developers , and language teachers..
