Summary or Abstract : Most of the information we receive from our environment is acqquird through reading, so it is of great importance to measure the readability level of materials we read. This task has been done through use of readability formulas most of the time. But it has been proved that these formulas which take only two factors of the printed material, i.e. word difficulty and sentence lenght, into consideration seem to be inadequate devices for the purpose, since various factors such as awareness of the interretaled components of sentence structure or of the factors causing the complexity of the sentences which are related to their syntactic structure are ignored by these formulas. This research studied whether the change in the structure of the sentences in a text may any influence on the reading comprehension readers. In other words, would readers be able to comprehend a text with simple sentences, or should we expect the other way round? The results of the Analysis of variance revealed that there is no significant difference among the comprehension of the versions. The finding related to this study indicated that it cannot be claimed that texts with version (1) sentence structure would did comprehension, rather, the study revealed that more higher scores were observed in the data related to versions(2) and (3)..
