Thinking and its significance has been an issue of human concern all throughout the history. It has obssesed the mind of the intellectuals and elities. Although there is a little consensus about the most important period of time in terms of the growth of this notion, " golden Aga of Greece " Age of Enlightement " have been identified as being outstanding in the germination and glorification of the power of thougt in human history. In the modern world the magnitude of this concept has crossed the borders between the intellectuals and the common man. In order words, The atr of astute thinking is considered as a requirenment for a responsible citizen in democratic society. Astute thinking or what we shall call " Critical Thinking " transforems: consumers who buy and use impulsively, parents who educate their children unreflective, citizens who vote instinctively, patients who treat their bodies unattentively and teachers who teach uncritically as they were thought inadvertently discouraging their student of the material, to: selective consumers, reflective and mindful parents, responsible citizens, and critical teachers. In short it helps us to live an " exmined life " instead of an : unexamined " one..
