Summary or Abstract : The present study sought to find further evidence of the role of impulsive / reflective cognitive style in EFL learners' writing. The study was conducted in three succeeding phases. First, 128 junior and senior students studing English at Islamic Azad University of Mashad took the TOERL test. Afterwards two compositions were presented by each subject, in two successive class sessions. And finally the measure of impulsive / reflective cognitive style, Eysenck's Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) was administered. The purpose of this study was to find answers to the following questions: Is there any relation between EFL learners' impulsive / reflective cognitive style and their writing ability, fluency, syntactic fluency, and accuracy? If yes, Which cognitive style has a greater effect on these factors? To this end the writing of the two homogeneous groups - 30 impulsives, and 30 reflectives were corrected and data collected were subjected to descriptive statistics. The inferred results led us to the following conclusions: 1. Different aspects of writing are defferently influenced by learners' impulsivity reflectivity. 2. Impulsive learners' writing has more fluency and syntactic fluency than that of reflectives. 3. The accuracy of reflectivs' writing is more than that of impulsives. 4. The overall organization of writing is not influenced by learners' cognitive style (i.e. impulsivity and reflectivity)..
