Summary or Abstract : The present study was an endeavor to examine the nature of connection between intelligence, inductive reasoning, and language learning in general. Three questions of this research are: 1. What is the relationship (if any ) between intelligence and foreign language proficiency? 2. What is the relationship(if any) between inductive reasoning and foreign language proficiency? 3. If any relation should be found, which one, intelligence or inductive reasoning is correlated with foreign language proficiency significantly? The magnitude of the correlation coefficient stresses the importance of inductive reasoning in foreign language learning.In other words, correlation coefficicant of inductive reasoning and language proficiency was significant comparing it with the correlation coefficient of intelligence and language proficiency..
