Summary or Abstract : Reading is a skill everyone needs whether he is a student in elementary, secondary schools or in a university . For many university foreign students, reading skills are very important for academic success. Readers who are able to identify top - level structure as well as paragraph - level relations of a text are better able to understand the passage than are the readers who remember only a collection of details. one area of structure comprehension is micro - structure, which refers to that aspect of text structure indicating the auther's progression from given to new information. It includes certain linguistic cues or cohesive relations which supply the reader with information about what the auther desires the reader to be holding in memory. of Particular interest in the present study is the comprehension of coreferential pronouns in a text designated for native speakers. In this regard, the following questions were asked: 1. Is the proficiency level of students significant in reading comprehension? 2. Is the comprehension of coreferential ties significant in reader comprehension? 3. can persian students understand and interpret pronouns in passages designated for native speakers? The result discerned that in all three casesthe interactions of listed factors on each are not significant..
