Summary or Abstract : Pronunciation is an important subskill in second / foreign language learning and teaching. Since the sound system is an integral patr of any language, the study of pronunciation must from a important part of an EFL program. learning to pronounce a language is very complex task. The learning process can be facilitated if the task is structured in some way and if the learner is made aware of what is involved, and finally if its quality is measured appropriately. But little attention is paid to the issue of testing and evaluation.Therefore, the need for pronunciation tests arises. Intending to fill in such a research gap, the researcher cconducted this study to find out if a valid and reliable test for measuring this important subskill could be developed.The use of oral and written tests of pronunciation is quite common is some EFL situations. The researcher has set forth one objective in designing this study, namely, to investigate and compare the written and oral tests of pronunciation in order to see if the written tests provide a good measure of actual pronunciation ability of EFL students. Therefore, this study intends to find out to what extent the written tests of pronunciation are valid. So following null Hypothesis was formulated: there is no significant relationship between the oral and written approach to testing pronunciation..
