این تحقیق روش نوینی را در مطالعه ترجمه ارائه می دهد. این روش برخلاف روشهای پیشین به مطالعه ترجمه بصورت عینی می پردازد. از لحاظ نظری ، این تحقیق بطور عمده بر اساس نظریات مونابیکر و گیدیون توری استوار است . این تحقیق بطور عمده در جستجوی یافتن هماهنگی بین متن اصلی و متن ترجمه شده می باشد. در این تحقیق از پیکره متن کوچک دو زبانه‌ای (فارسی - انگلیسی) بابیش از پنجاه هزار کلمه استفاده شده است. متون برگزیده شامل چکیده مقالاتی در مجله کتاب ماه بود که توسط مترجمین ماهر به زبان انگلیسی ترجمه شده بودند . یافته‌های این تحقیق حاکی از آن است که: - در بسیاری از موارد ، حروف اضافه بدلیل اینکه در ساختار فعلی افعال انگلیسی یا فارسی قرار می گیرند ، در فرآیند ترجمه حذف می شوند یا تغییر می یابند

The study seeks to investigate the language of translation from a quantitative perspective , unlike many qualitative approaches which have sofar looked into the language of translation subjectively. The present study will look for the generalizations which can be set the translation of two frequently used Persian dar and az and their equivalent items when translated into English. The present research is also presented as introduction to familiarize other researchers with the methodoligy of this kind of research. The study based on the studies on Comparable Corpora by Guidon Toury Mainly and some other scholars. The findings of the study revealed that in many cases the two prepositions az and dar undergo different changes in translation. The lexical equivalent items for dar and az were more literal only when they appeared as an adverb marker. The findings of this study demonstrated that there is not necessarily a meaningful relationship between the frequency of occurrence of one preposition used in Persian and its equivalent items in English..
