در این تحقیق اثر معروف هنری جیمز به نام " چرخش پیچ " مورد بحث و تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفته است. در این تحقیق تقسیم بندی جدیدی از نقد روانکاوانه مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. یافته‌های این تحقیق حاکی از آن است که برخی از آثار ادبی، استعداد و آمادگی بیشتری دارند تا با استفاده از انواع نقد روانکاوانه مورد تحلیل قرار گیرند و مشخص می شود که می توان با این انواع نقد روانکاوانه یک اثر ادبی را مورد بحث قرار داد

This Dissertation is all about Freud, henry James's The turn of the screw, and various modes of psychonalytic criticism discussed in light of the novella. Sigmund Freud is the creator of Psychoanalysis, and science which has had more than considerable effects on literature as well as in literary theory. Hitler's invasion of Austria drove in 1939. His theories of the normal and abnormal mind were evolved originally from his study of neurotic aliment. His many contributions to Knowledge include his studies of the development of the sexual instinct in children, his descriptions of the workings of the unconscious mind and of the nature of repression, and his examination and interpretation of dreams. many of Freud's concepts have become universally familiar in a vulgarized from. For example, one can mention the following: The oedipus complex, the death wish, the family romance, penis envy, phallic symbolism, and the formulation of the dicisions between the " Id the Ego and the Superego ". This dissertation tries to discuss henry James' s The turn of the screw in light of these modes of psychoanalytic criticism. The novella has been interpreted in various ways both psychoanalytically and otherwise..
