Summary or Abstract : هدف تحقیق: تحلیل انتقادی کلام کتب اینترچنج ترد ادیشن مورد استفاده زبان آموزان ایرانی در آموزشگاههای زبان انگلیسی است. متون خواندن اینترچنج ترد ادیشن براساس نیازهای خاص عمومی علایق آرزوها و اهداف مخاطبین خود نگاشته شده اند و جهانی شاد و خوشحال را به تصویر می کشند و سعر بر آن دارند که کشور آمریکا را در کانون توجه مختطبین خود حفظ کنند. این متون کشور آمریکا را به عنوان مدینه فاضله معرفی می کنند. تبعیض نژادی و جنسی در این متون خیلی کم رنگ دیده می شود. ار دیگر یافته های تحقیق حاضر این است که کشورهای خاورمیانه مردم و فرهنگ آنها بطور کلی از این متون خیلی کم رنگ دیده می شود
: Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) is a broad and multidisciplinary approach which considers discourse as a اsocial practice and attempts to reveal connections between language use, power, and ideology. Using CDA, this study critically investigates what ideologies and power relations are manifested in Interchange Third Edition series currently used for adult and young adult learners in many English language institutes in Iran. First, this research identifies topics and themes of the reading texts to give a holistic picture of all the reading texts. Second, it examines the underlying power relations and ideologies in the reading texts of Interchange Third Edition. Then, it analyses how textual features, such as lexical choices and grammatical elements are manipulated to transfer ideologies and demonstrate power relations. This study concludes that reading texts of Interchange Third Edition are selected based on the general and specific needs, interests, desires, and goals of its young adult audiences. The texts depict a happy and positive world and try to keep the United States at the center of the readerبs attention and represent it as aparadise Racial and sex discrimination is lightly detected in these texts. And finally, in these texts Middle East countries, cultures, and people are completely omitted. The reading texts of Interchange Third Edition have long term effects on the mind of the Iranian English language learners. They enjoy and learn from the ideological contents of reading texts and accept the underlying power relations of these textbooks easily. However, they may encounter a kind of contradiction or ideological shock..
