: Traditionally, collocations are treated in lexicography as word combinations that must be learnt by heart by second language learners and which must thus be listed explicitly in collocation dictionaries. However, the learners' capacity to understand and to produce collocations they have never heard before indicates that collocations are not as opaque as often assumed. collocations and on the other hand, its role in language learners' native like proficiency has made the researcher to conduct a study in order to investigate the relationship between collocation and language skills in general and listening comprehension in particular. Since, as most language learners approve, listening comprehension is the most problematic area for students. In the current research, two tests of collocation and listening had been administered to a group of language learners and then, the relationship between them was figured out, the result of which is presented in the final chapter of this research..
