: Translation has always been an inextricable part of the translation of culture. Theoretically, it can be argued that the cultural turn which has influenced translation studies over the last few years can help to answer manifold questions of translation history and translation practice. Translators are permanently faced with the problem of how to treat the cultural aspects implicit in a source text (ST) and of finding the most appropriate technique of successfully conveying these aspects in the target language (TL). It should be considered that there are some items in a text that will mislead the TL reader if the translator does not take into account the culture of SL. In the Rubaiyat of Khayyam, there are such items and need special attention on the part of the translator. The present study focused on translating the Culture-Specific- Items. It firstly focused on the concept of translation and culture and the relationship between language and culture, and also translation and culture. Then, in the main part, the strategies adopted by different translators of Rubaiyat of Khayyam as a literary text, when translating Culture- Specific-Concepts, were noticed and discussed. The present study was intended to highlight the significant role of cultural considerations in the translation process. It was a descriptive research with the aim of carrying out an analysis and description of particular strategies used by different translators to cope with CSIs and to find that whether Persian- Native and Non-Persian native translators when translating a single original CSI use the same strategy or different one. By referring to the Aixela s definition of CSI and the meaning of the CSI in Moins Persian Dictionary , and during the comparison of the source and the target texts the Culture-Specifi- Items CSI(s) were drawn. After studying the classification of cultural categories introduced by translation scholars a general view about the cultural categories of each CSI in the source text were acquired. Then the translations of CSI in each quatrain were compared with each other and with the original text to study the strategies applied in the rendering of those items into English.
