: The importance of physical and political geography to international politics is self- evidence. The influence of climate, access (or lack of access) to resources, national agricultural potential, and similar factors have an obvious influence on the development of politics.Lack of access to the sea has many effects on economic development. Geographical factors put landlocked developing countries at a distinct disadvantage in their way to economic development. Lack of access to the sea and being far away from major international markets result in prohibitive transit costs. They create formidable obstacles in importing items and exporting goods. Consequently, landlocked developing countries find themselves increasingly marginalized in the globalizing world economy. There are seven landlocked countries in Central Asia and Caucasus region. After the Soviet Union disintegration, these countries found themselves with the consequences of being landlocked. There exist a clear immediate need for cooperation among the countries of Central Asia countries and their transit neighbors. In this thesis, it is intended to study the regional integration in Central Asia, in order to see its impact on reducing the negative impact of being landlocked in the region..
