.راهبرد شناخته شد .با توجه به نتایج به دست آمده از یافته‌صهای این تحقیق مشخص گردید که گاه مترجان تلاش فراوانی می کنند که به هر طریق ممکن یک اصطلاح را به اصطلاحی دیگر در زبان مقصد ترجمه کنند .آنها برای نیل به این هدف گاه از ترجمه تحت اللفظی یا کلمه به کلمه استفاده می کنند که منجر به معادل های بدون معنی و حتی گاه مضحک می شوند .دراین تحقیق همچنین، عدم توجه مترجمان به معادل های موجود برای اصطلاحات انگلیسی من جمله معادل های پیشنهاد شده در فرهنگ لغت های دو زبانه دربرگردان بسیاری از موارد مشهوداست .شناخت و یادگیری اصطلاحات از دیگر نکات مهم در ترجمه اصطلاحات می باشد که اهمیت آن را در این تحقیق به خوبی مشاهده می کنیم 4 ترجمه از طریق بازگویی ترجمه شده اند .به بیان دیگر، این راهبرد پربسامد ترین در میانTranslation by paraphrase اصطلاح با استفاده از راهبرد 760 داستان کوتاه انگیسی یافت شدکه دراین میان 21 اصطلاح در 1109ترجمه اصطلاحات موضوعی بحث برانگیزاست .ازآنجا که اصطلاحات عموما ریشه در فرهنگ و زبان متن مبدأ دارند، ترجمه آنان امری دشوار است .از طرفی دیگر، نسبت به موارد مشابه همچون استعارات و تشبیهات، میزان تحقیقات صورت گرفته در زمینه اصطلاحات و ترجمه آنان ناچیز است .این مهم در کشورما،ایران، نیز نمود دارد .در تحقیق پیش رو، محقق تلاش کرده است که راهبردهای گوناگون در زمینه ترجمه اصطلاحات داستانهای کوتاه انگلیسی را مورد بررسی قرار دهد.در این تحقیق،

Idioms are for the most part fixed expressions whose meanings cannot be understood from individual meaning of the words that constitute them. Many idioms are culture-bound. Therefore, translating them is not an easy task. When idioms are used in literary texts such as short stories, difficulty of rendering them may get even more serious. However, there are some methods proposed to translate them. Baker, for example, offered four strategies for this purpose (2001). The aim of this paper is to determine the most frequently used strategy in Persian rendering of English idioms in short stories. To achieve this aim, 21 short stories along with their Persian translations were chosen. It is discovered that the strategy most frequently used is "translation by paraphrase", which confirms Baker's own claim, and the one least frequently used is "using an idiom of similar meaning and form", which can be related to the fact that idioms are language-specific and culture-bound items.
