Summary or Abstract : هدف تحقیق :اهمیت دیدگاه انتقادی در آموزش و مخصوصا آموزش زبان انگلیسی باعث می شود که هر فعالیتی در این زمینه که باعث تسهیل در اجرای آن شود یا موانع بر سر راه اجرای آنرا بررسی کند از اهمیت خاصی برخوردار شود
: The present study is conducted to investigate any possible relationship between critical pedagogy (CP) and critical thinking (CT) of English teachers in Pakdasht and Varamin. An 80-item critical thinking questionnaire was distributed to one hundred and two subjects among whom 96 respondents were available for the second 30-item survey on critical pedagogy. The numerical data collected from the two questionnaires were analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient to find out whether or not there is statistically significant correlation between the two sets of scores. The results of the study failed to show any significant correlation between CP and CT. Ten interviews were also run to launch into a broader inquiry into the teachers' familiarity and application of critical techniques and strategies. The quantitative analysis of the interviews revealed that despite the hindering organizational and educational barriers, there is a strong tendency towards the utilization of critical pedagogy strategies among the participants. Some useful techniques and activities were also drawn from the interviews depicting how critical pedagogy can be brought into the classroom context..
