Summary or Abstract : This dissertation is a narrative exploration of the psychology internship year experience of two recent doctoral clinical psychology students, a male and a female, from an online university who recently completed their predoctoral clinical psychology internship. The two participants in this study were interviewed using a narrative/modified life story interview technique (Leiblich, Tuval-Mashiach, & Zilber, 1998) to elicit their respective internship year stories. The interviews were audio recorded and transcribed. Then the narrative text was analyzed using the four cells model of narrative analysis suggested by Leiblich, Tuval-Mashiach, and Zilber (1998). The results are presented in a format that includes the results of the narrative analysis and illustrative quotes which substantiate the findings. Comparison of the results with five existing theories of the internship year from the literature are included. Implications of the findings and suggestions for future research are also presented..
