Summary or Abstract : The purpose of this study was to investigate the learning outcomes of college students enrolled in introductory psychology courses on a quarter or semester calendar. A quasi-experimental pretest/posttest design was employed. The rationale for this study was that minimal research has been performed to assess if the quality of education pertaining to learning outcomes are affected by differences in the academic calendar. Learning outcomes were assessed via a 15-item test of psychology concepts. The pre- and posttests were administered to 100 students in the quarter format and 100 students in the semester format..
