Summary or Abstract : This study investigated the challenges faced by women enrolled in clinical psychology doctoral programs and cognitive behavioral approaches to stress management applicable to this population. The purpose of this research was to develop a brochure that could be helpful to the target population. A review of the stress and coping literature identifying unique sources of stress experienced by women in academic and professional settings, and a model of preventative stress management by Quick, Quick, Nelson, and Hurrell (1997) provided the initial basis for brochure content..
