Summary or Abstract : This study explores peace education in selected schools of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As the only cities bombed with nuclear weapons at the end of World War II, Hiroshima and Nagasaki provide an anchor for contemporary peace education. The research questions proposed for this study were: What peace education curricula are being taught in schools of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? How are the peace education curricula being taught in the schools of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? What does the nature of peace education curriculum in Hiroshima and Nagasaki reveal about the curricular leadership theories used by teachers and principals in Japanese schools? What is the opinion of study participants, based upon their worldview, of how peace education should be developed and delivered in the future?.
