A major concern for the field of ministry in every age has always been to seek an effective approach that will enable ministers to reach out to the people of God in a manner that addresses the contemporary and changing spiritual needs of the world. Many current theologians and theological educators have demonstrated that for an effective pastoral ministry to occur, ministerial training must make ministers aware of the life situations of the people they are called to shepherd. Theological education must place seminarians where they can be in touch with life situations that become for them occasions for experiential learning.
