Summary or Abstract : This study offers a curriculum reading of the New Jersey State Supreme Court Cases Abbott v. Burke . The Abbott cases are school funding equity cases whose implications have been in the area of funding measures to achieve equity. Later Abbott decisions move into areas of school programs and school facilities. Specific language describing children, describing educational opportunity, and describing the relationship between school and society make the early Abbott decision, referred to as Abbott II , a richer resource for the development of curriculum to enact the vision of a thorough and efficient system of education expressed in the Supreme Court decision than the later decisions that specify curriculum..
