Summary or Abstract : Native American youth face many problems and challenges with respect to substance abuse. Due to increasing trends of substance abuse, schools serving Native American youth have assumed more responsibility in addressing these problems. Intervention efforts, especially peer counseling programs, have shown success in addressing these problems within junior and senior high schools. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify significant personal and environmental factors associated with successful implementation of peer counseling programs within schools serving Native American youth in Arizona..
