Summary or Abstract
:
This exploratory study reviews the literature on college student help-seeking behavior and college campus based telephone hotlines in the context of the literature on student attrition and retention in higher education. Research has shown that the vast majority of college students who were considered retention risks chose to continue their enrollment after receiving counseling. Disturbingly, however, many of these at-risk students do not seek out and use the on-campus mental health counseling resources..
