Summary or Abstract : Scope and method of study . The purpose of this study was to examine the possibility of a link between the theatre arts curriculum and character education in the public school. Participants in the study were five teachers from Texas who are members of the Texas Educational Theatre Association. Each teacher participated in two interviews and submitted journal entries and artifacts for study. 157 students of these five teachers completed surveys concerning their impressions of theatre arts, and six former students participated in telephone interviews with the researcher detailing their thoughts about the theatre arts curriculum. The researcher analyzed the data and significant themes emerged concerning the connection between the theatre arts curriculum and character education..
