Summary or Abstract : During the last four decades, multicultural education has developed into a national movement in the United States. Although its conceptual scope is still in formative stages of development, a common core of theoretical dimensions, categories and models has taken shape. One direct consequence of the popularity of the movement has been a proliferation in the amount and conceptual range of textbooks designated as multicultural.
