Summary or Abstract : Professional ethics are used to guide practice and promote integrity. While codes of ethics have been developed for therapeutic recreation, questions regarding how ethics education is obtained and what is included in ethics education have not been answered. This study was designed to explore ethics education within therapeutic recreation, offering evidence regarding the value of a strong foundation in ethics and the role of professional ethics in establishing an occupation as a profession. Findings within therapeutic recreation were compared with physical therapy and occupational therapy to determine if differences existed and to provide evidence regarding the need for standards regulating the content and delivery of ethics education..
