Summary or Abstract : The purpose of this study was to examine the perceptions of middle level students and teachers who participated in an experiential education program located in the northeastern section of the state of Alabama regarding the activities that were implemented. Research involved both qualitative and quantitative measures in a mixed design methodology. Frequencies and percentages and t tests were used to compare perceptions of middle level private school students with those of middle level public school students. Detailed responses to focus group questions were obtained from six teachers and 14 students concerning their participation in an experiential education program..
