Research suggests the need to construct an accurate, multi-dimensional descriptive profile of Hispanic female faculty that translates to a work setting which supports and promotes the values and goals of these individuals. Using data from the National Center for Education Statistics' 1999 National Study of Postsecondary Faculty , a secondary data analysis was conducted to investigate the experience of Hispanic female faculty in academia. Intervening variables included organizational fit and institutional fostering of professional socialization of Hispanic women faculty in academia. In this study, the researcher attempted to determine whether significant differences existed between four groups selected from the NSOPF:99 data set based on the independent variables: gender and race/ethnicity. The four contrasted groups were: Hispanic females; White, non-Hispanic females; Hispanic males; and White, non-Hispanic males. Specific NSOPF:99 variables were selected for measuring academic career satisfaction, professional socialization, and organizational fit..
