Summary or Abstract : Charitable giving is important to many non-profit organizations. In times of crisis, many people are willing to contribute. However, charitable giving is not only important during tragedies. Many non-profit organizations rely on external support to meet their ongoing financial needs. Therefore, understanding donor motivations in any context is crucial. The current study specifically focused on donor motivations in higher education. Based on prior research, five motives were identified: (1) incentives, (2) alumni involvement, (3) student involvement, (4) opportunity I---being asked to give, and (5) opportunity II---having the financial resources to give..
