Summary or Abstract : This research identifies and describes eight essential elements for an effective nonformal education (NFE) assessment. An NFE assessment is a detailed description and analysis of the status, objectives, plans, needs, constraints, and priority target areas in nonformal education with the assessment serving as the basis for rank-ordered action recommendations within a national education system. The major objective of the assessment is to enhance data-based planning and resource allocation in the NFE subsector. Results of this research will improve the selection, organization, and analysis of information on nonformal education for use by national level planners..
