Summary or Abstract : In her work, In A Different Voice , development psychologist Carol Gilligan describes three different perspectives in women's moral development. However, in this study it is argued that there are two approaches to moral problems embedded in Gilligan's three perspectives, a binary construct and a situational construct of a moral problem. To understand these two approaches to moral problems three conditions are examined: (1) the problem of traditional conceptions of autonomy and the need to redefine autonomy as attachment in association, (2) the traditional meaning of feminine goodness that generates feelings of victimization and doubt about self worth, (3) the consequences to learning that these first two conditions generate..
