The dissertation, Towards An Anabaptist Educational Theory , synthesizes a theory for tradition-based education based on affinities among Anabaptist perspectives on theology and classical educational theory and recent developments in epistemology. The main body of the dissertation is a conceptual analysis of congruence between historical Anabaptist perspectives and some contemporary epistemological thinking. In addition, the linkages found there become the occasion for a reappraisal of classical notions of "paideia.".
