Summary or Abstract
:
The primary purpose of this study was to bridge an existing gap in the empirical literature on depressive symptoms and marriage. Earlier studies described and explained the relationship between marital satisfaction and depressive symptoms and between marital function (cohesion, adaptability, and communication), and marital satisfaction. However, the relationship between marital function and depressive symptoms was not explained in the literature. The secondary purpose of this study was to examine the role of marital satisfaction as a possible mediator in the relationship between marital function (cohesion, adaptation, and communication) and depressive symptoms in married individuals..
