Summary or Abstract
:
Leslie Pinckney Hill to date, has been a relatively obscure figure in the literature of American educational history. Hill's numerous contributions to the field of higher education have been for the most part, overlooked by contemporary educational historians. Unfortunately, there are no biographies of Dr. Hill. Apart from a few celebratory and commemorative articles in miscellaneous journals, Hill's educational philosophy and leadership has not been the subject of any detailed and in-depth analysis. This thesis will establish Leslie Pinckney Hill as an important leader in the Black scholastic tradition and a noteworthy figure in American educational history..
