Summary or Abstract : Outcomes for learners participating in adult education program services are of national and local interest as programs seek to maximize effective services in an era of accountability and as an economic contribution to their communities. Adult education includes programs funded through the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA). Examining what one state, Kansas, requires of its AEFLA-funded adult education programs will begin to fill the need for data. Since Kansas ranks among the top U.S. states in having adult education programs with high proportions of educational gain, analyzing data from this state is an optimal choice..
