Summary or Abstract : This study sought to reveal several Mexican-American women's worldviews regarding self-actualization in the workforce. The data collected from accounts by study participants offered insights on how they negotiated the transition from an occupation specific instructional process to the workplace. The study assumed that the concept of worker self-actualization in the US is dependent in part upon the economic viability that comes from employment income. A tangential belief was that an upward change in socio-economic status could be predicated upon an educational intervention-one that attempted to ameliorate the impediments to learning language, culture, and technology that are often encountered by marginalized populations..
