Summary or Abstract : This study documents ways in which prospective counselors develop multicultural competence and change agency within the context of the Community-Based Block (CBB) Program, a graduate-level counselor preparation program designed to prepare multicultural counselors to work with multicultural communities. Through the voices of six prospective counselors, the study examines factors that promote development of their multicultural competence and transformative consciousness. Participants were provided a learning environment and infrastructure where they could examine and reflect on their experiences as learners in the CBB program..
