Summary or Abstract : The purpose of this quantitative study was to examine how multiple placement changes affect foster youth ability to generate a social support system and achieve academically. The sample consisted of 31 emancipated foster youth, aged 18-21 years, who resided in the Department of Children and Family Services Transitional Housing Program. A researcher-developed survey asked the youth to assess their current educational status and goals, as well as identify educational support and sources obtained while in foster care..
