Summary or Abstract : Archival analysis was performed using data gathered from 150 clinical psychology students from a small southern California university to develop local norms for personality profiles, using the 16PF and the MMPI-2. Results from the 16PF revealed a significant difference in scaled scores between clinical psychology graduate students and the general population. Clinical psychology rule-consciousness, self-control, extraversion more socially bold and open to change. Results on the 16PF supplemental criterion variables found the graduate student population to be high in empathy and moderately high in self-esteem, emotional adjustment and social adjustment. MMPI-2 findings support the results of the 16PF, suggesting that the graduate students enjoy well-balanced emotional health..
