Summary or Abstract : This study explored the effects of aerobic exercise combined with cognitive experiential therapy (ACET) as a treatment for cardiovascular fitness, locus of control, self-concept, and behavioral adjustment in male juvenile delinquents. Cognitive experiential therapy (CET) is a psychotherapeutic approach which assumes that cognition, influenced by the effects of relaxation techniques, is subject to change as it proceeds through a number of content and process stages. CET further proposes that as cognition is restructured other systems (i.e., cardiovascular, affective) are influenced in their operation. ACET proposes that the addition of aerobic exercise to CET results in even more positive experiences (i.e., more self-control, increased stamina) and deeper relaxation..
