Summary or Abstract : Theatre in Scandinavia is well-known world wide for being at the forefront of the innovatory and experimental dramaturgical tradition which can be traced back to Henrik Ibsen and August Strindberg. Today, however, it struggles to emerge from the shadow of these great playwrights and revise their social and cultural ideas, change dramaturgical conceptions and introduce original approaches to the role of contemporary theatre. This study is devoted to three postmodern Scandinavian artists who have chosen an unbeaten path for their aesthetic explorations and who aim to restructure and broaden the borders of the theatre genre..
