Summary or Abstract : With corporations spending billions of dollars annually to provide training for their employees, businesses are increasingly turning to e-learning to meet their educational needs. This study focused on whether employees at one Global Fortune Five Hundred company were using what they learned in a Web-based security awareness module on-the-job. A nonexperimental correlation research design was employed to examine organizational climate factors, or situational cues (goal, social, task) and consequences (positive feedback, negative feedback, or no feedback), which support or inhibit e-learning training-transfer to the job. Although very limited, the data from this study do raise questions regarding whether these organizational climate factors are too highly correlated to distinguish their individual relationships with training transfer. The study describes the challenges associated with conducting research in a corporate setting and provides recommendations for further research.
