The purpose of this investigation was to add to the body of knowledge in this area. This study explored the relationship between the five-factor model of personality and Holland's occupational typology. While previous research has uncovered significant relationships between the two models the relationships have been relatively weak. Therefore, this study also included more specific subdivisions of Holland's types (basic interests) in order to determine if stronger, more specific and more robust relationships can be found..
