Summary or Abstract : A sample of 502 university students completed the Revised NEO Personality Inventory (NEO PI-R), the Vocational Preference Inventory (VPI), and a brief demographic information sheet. A comparison of means and standard deviations between the NEO PI-R college-age norm group and the study participants showed significant differences in four out of five NEO PI-R domain scales and 19 out of 30 subscales for mixed gender samples. A series of MANOVAs indicated that effects of gender and academic major area were significant on four and two out of the five domain factors, respectively. Effects of Holland code types were significant only on the Openness to Experience factor at the 0.05 level for both genders..
