Summary or Abstract : This study identified the professional development needs of entry-year second-career teachers who have completed Ashland University's Bachelor's Plus Program for licensure. These needs were compared to the professional development needs of traditionally prepared entry-year teachers as reported in literature. Findings revealed the needs identified by second-career teachers were congruent with slightly over 50 of the top needs identified by traditional entry-year teachers in literature. The top ranked needs of the second-career teachers were not found in the top 12 needs of traditional teachers. Due to varying differences between individuals in personal and professional needs, professional development practitioners were urged to design differentiated professional development that utilized leadership, adult learning theory, career stages, and resources.
